English – Advanced Higher
AH English students will spend the month of June researching for their 3,000 word dissertation. This piece of work makes up 30% of their final grade.
They should be:
– thinking about a genre of literature that interests them.- thinking about themes of interest such as gender inequality, racism, mental ill health…- thinking about what they currently read and exploring whether they are sophisticated enough to write about. – choosing texts that they want to study in depth; novels, plays poetry…- checking in with their teacher about possible texts/themes or any other issue.
