Key points;
Parent info! – All pupils should come to school in uniform, PE kit should be brought in their bag to change into / out of. Our changing rooms are now operating normally.
Covid – Last week’s update outlined the new steps we are all getting used to around isolation. All please continue to follow the National guidance and if you have any questions, let us know on Admin@leith.edin.sch.uk
Testing – Remains a national and societal priority. We should all home test at least x2 per week. This will help keep possible transmission down, especially in busy schools. We have test kits available and can simply be collected at the front office.
New iPads! – Monday is the start of our week-long launch of our new iPads across S1-S6. Ms Watson has sent some extremely important guidance to Families and Pupils by email. See the post from last week, it is VITAL you click the link and complete the info and forms……
iPads 1to1 for all S1-S6 – An email went out to all families today about our very exciting Empowered Learning launch. Every pupil in Leith Academy will be issued with a school iPad during the week beginning the 17th January to help support their learning both in school at home. The information sent can be found here Empowered Learning – (leithacademy.uk). All families need to complete the online Form (details via the link) to sign up to the Home School Agreement and Responsible User Agreement.
Attendance process update – Please see a separate mail sent to Families linked to this important safeguarding process. Scottish Govt and Edinburgh Council are putting in place this expectation to help us all ensure our youngsters are in School learning whenever possible. It is a new process for us all, thank you in helping make it as smooth and useful as possible.
SQA – All S4,5,6 pupils and Families should keep updated on SQA developments as they come through the weeks ahead. The latest update is below and available on their website;
Supporting learners as Covid disruption continues – On Tuesday 11 January, we wrote to centres with a reminder that we are still preparing for exams to take place and that we will provide learners with revision support should the levels of disruption to learning and teaching continue.
