Stakeholder feedback
P7 3 Day visit – This was another great success with our newS1’s enjoying a really positive 3 days. As ever our S6 helpers were a great support all led by Rachel et al. See them in August!
Final day – Next Friday we finish for the 25/26 year, our finish time is 12.15pm. Pupils will be dismissed from Leith Academy and those who need a free school meal / packed lunch can collect this as they depart.
Food allergies – Schools were given advice to be aware of this and share with Families. It is not possible to have completely allergen free schools, but please be mindful of bringing food in that may present some allergy risk for those in the building who could be allergic. Thank you for taking note.
Next week collection – if you have any rice, pasta, cereal, tins that you can donate to Ms Sutherland in English, please do so over next week. We will then direct this to some Families who will benefit from this support over the summer break.
Up use Uniform – Clean shirts, black trousers, Leith ties, Leith hoodies. If you have anything you can donate for us to give to Families, please hand in to the School office next week.
Prom 2026 – Was a great event at the Scotsman on Friday, a nice to see our S6 off into the real world.

GA4 – The situation in Western Sahara , Israeli settlers in occupied Gaza
World Economic Forum – Tariffs, Protectionism and the USA, The potential for a global currency
And more, a great event for our pupils to have a voice at.

Trip – Criminology – Thanks to PC Stevie Patterson for hosting the Criminology class at the police station. He gave the class a tour and they put him through his paces in a really interesting Q&A! Mrs Steele, Head of Social Studies

Mandarin Hub – At Leith Academy we are the Mandarin Hub for the City. We have many young people learning Mandarin and we also run City wide competitions, see below from Ms Du.
The City‑Wide 2026 Dragon Boat Competition – To celebrate the 2026 Chinese Dragon Boat Festival, Leith Academy, as the Confucius Hub for the city of Edinburgh, organised a city‑wide Dragon Boat Making Competition. A total of 12 schools took part in this creative event, and we are delighted to share that nine of the winning entries came from Leith Academy. Congratulations to all our talented winners — see the attached photo.

Leith Athletic win – Some of our S3 youngsters had a superb season ending in a great victory, say well done if you see them next week. Update below;
Our S3 boys won the Div 3B league and Div 3 Cup for Leith Athletic FC. They only lost one game all season and last night they beat Bonnyrigg Rose 6-0 in the Cup. An incredible achievement for the lads, the club and for Leith.
