After another busy week, we move into the final week of term next week. I will update all Families before next Thursday (we finish at lunch time 12.42pm). Packed lunches will be available for youngsters on free school meals on Thursday. We are also finalising Calendar dates for 25/26 to help your Family planning for the next school year.
Some key points / updates;
New S1 3 day visit – Our new S1’s had a superb and sunny 3 days at Leith Academy. Thanks to all colleagues involved in the leading, planning and organisation – we look forward to seeing them in August.
SQA reminders for current S5, S6 and those S6 who have just left Leith Academy – SQA results day is Tuesday 5th August 2025. Young people sitting qualification this session should have signed up to MySQA, www.mysqa.org.uk to receive their results via text message, email as well as their certificate through the post. They should check their name and address on MySQA is correct, any issues, speak to the school office as this will be the name on their certificate and also the address their qualifications certificate will be sent to.
A reminder of the Your Results booklet – SQA via the link, was emailed to all current S5, S6 pupils and leavers. This contains full information on the results service and criteria for possible appeals. If looking to appeal any areas, please ask your young person to speak with their subject teacher once school resumes.
Missed Vaccinations – See the poster attached / below regarding missed appointments and possible next steps you can take.
Heritage languages – See a poster attached and below. If you speak a native language you should ensure you receive a qualification from the SQA.
Dragon Boat Competition – At Leith Academy we are the Mandarin / Confucius Hub School for the City of Edinburgh. Ms Du ran a competition across the City, see update below;
IDL – Our PE and Social Studies depts ran a joint commonwealth morning with great participation from all of S2 dressed in the colours of their country!
