As we come to the end of term I want to take time to thank our Families for the combined support we give the young people of Leith on a daily basis. Our youngsters are a joy to work with and support every day at the Mighty Leith Academy!…..but supporting these outcomes involves us all working together and I am, as ever, grateful for the fantastic Parental / Family support we have.

Current House Point standings – following several competitions including Swim Gala, Xmas card design, The Business of Xmas quiz, merits home and our Youth Philanthropy Initiative Final.

Christmas Concert – We had a full house on Wednesday night for our concert of music, performance, comedy and fun. It was a superb event with a wide range of performances from pupils and staff. Rachel Ponte and Dave McManus led a large team through the many factors in a fantastic way, well done to all!
YPI Final – After several weeks of youngsters working with charities and becoming hugely passionate and invested in the work they were engaged in, we had the final this week led by Mrs Steele and Social Subjects Team.
The winning team with a cheque for £3000 going to their charity was FACE FACE | Fighting Against Cancer Edinburgh .
The finalists all did incredibly well performing to a large audience. Well done to the winning team;
S2 Tracking reports – The process of completing these has begun with issue to Families in the new year. The information will support discussions at home around course / pathway choice into S3 which is always an exciting and positive next step for our youngsters. Details in the New Year.

Digital Safety – This time of year can present opportunity for increased screen time for children, see attached some support for Parents.
