After our first full week back we are in full flow with many events and activities happening across the School as our S1 began to find their way through the school day without the great support of their S6 Buddies as they need to get back to lessons / learning.
Some key points;
Housekeeping – Important basics for our learners to be clear on;
- Pupils do not leave class unless given permission by their Teacher who is legally responsible for them
- Pupils do not let leave class to get their iPads – pupils should collect these from lockers at break or lunch or keep in their bags
- Only one pupil is out of class at a time, whether it is to collect something, go to the toilet or to see a Teacher. If possible try to do this at break and lunch times to avoid missing learning
- Pupils do not leave classes early, we wait for the bell
School photos – These were a great success again this year thanks to the direction of Ms Watson and Mike from Tempest photography. Below is the picture of our Pupil Leadership Team for 2024/25 with Skye, Alfee, Priya and Alex. See email updates to Families for how to collect your child’s photo pack or email admin@leith.edin.sch.uk if you have questions.
House Points – Our first Inter-house competition is next week as we kicks off this year’s events with Volleyball. This is open to S1 through to S6, speak to the PE dept for details on how to be involved and gain points for your Anderson, Barton, Cowan or Port!
Mindroom for Parents – See below some information and details of an event that may be of interest;
Parent Council – Our first Parent Council meeting of 24/25 is next Thursday. We start at 7pm in the staffroom. There will be an email sent by our Parent Council to those who have provided their email address for info. If you would like to be added or have any questions, please email them to Leithparentcouncil@gmail.com . We have a long history of working together to support the work we do every day in helping improve outcomes for the young people of Leith.
NHS Vaccination information – We are distributing Flu Vaccine letters to teachers to give to pupils across all of S1-S6. These forms should be completed and handed back to the School Office by 30th of August.
Well done to all this week, have a great weekend.
