Some key points as we enter the final week of the 24/25 timetable next week.
S1 Parents’ Eve – We had a positive night with S1 Families on Thursday. Feedback was provided on how our young S1’s are progressing and things they can think about as they move into S2. Thank you to Families for the very positive feedback received.
STV – Some of our youngsters from a few years ago featured in a short film linked to Mental Health challenges and how talking about things and seeking support is important for society to be aware of. Not an easy topic, the young adults involved did extremely well in putting their message across. S4 Band go live! – Over many years at Leith we have enjoyed brilliant performances across the Arts, at times this then leads to youngsters taking their skills out beyond School. This has happened for ‘The Caledonians’ band who were performing at Leith Depot and other venues…..well done to all band members, see picture from gig.

Maths competition – We had a team enter the Mathematiques sans Frontieres 2025 competition and we came in the top 10 across National entries, well done to all involved!

Rugby Festival – From Robbie our Rugby coach…..Last week we had 3 teams from Leith academy compete in the east emerging schools’ event. Everyone played amazing with S1/2 girls team reaching the semifinals just getting beat in the last minute and sadly missing out on the final. Both boys team played some brilliant rugby with the S1 and S2 team reaching the quarter finals.
What a year it’s been for rugby at Leith Academy going from strength to strength!!

DWF Lawyers of the Future! – We have six successful applicants at DWF Law out on their work experience this week, on Wednesday all the pupils were in to do a mock court experience – this program is a great example of schools and business working together to develop the skills of our youngsters in a work place setting.
History trip in Leith – Some of our S3 History classes went on a visit to the Drill Hall on Dalmeny Street, seeing the Gretna Railway disaster exhibition. A significant part of Leith’s history and the youngsters were very engaged in learning about their local community.
