A busy time of year as ever with several updates across several year groups for Families to be aware of.
S4-6 How to Pass Your National Qualifications Evening – This is being held on Wednesday 28th September at 6.30pm in the Drama Theatre. All S4-6 families and pupils are invited to attend. Information has been emailed out to all S4-6 families. We would be delighted if you could join us to hear about the qualifications, supports on offer and advice from subject areas and pupils on resources and revision strategies.
Online Revision – Further to the update last week about Scholar SCHOLAR (hw.ac.uk) , Scotland also has a National online learning platform which offers a range of courses / subjects to help compliment classroom learning. See attached letter / information which Teams should consider to compliment our work in supporting youngsters achieve.
S1 iPads – Empowered Learning Deployment – Emails have gone out to all S1 families with full details on the 1:1 iPad rollout for S1 pupils. This is a very exciting initiative that ensures all pupils have access to a device to support their learning both in class and at home. The email includes a link to a Microsoft Form which must be completed by Friday 30th September. The rollout will happen during October and all S1 pupils must bring their school bag to carry their fully charged iPad in each day. Youngsters cannot be issued with an iPad unless the Form has been completed and they have a school bag with them.
S2-6 iPad update – There will be an option to enable Touch ID on school iPads soon which will make it more user friendly for pupils to sign into their iPad. https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT204587 has information about Touch ID, please note that the fingerprint data is encrypted and stored mathematically on the device in such a way that it is impossible for anyone to access it. This is an option that is being rolled out as part of the City of Edinburgh Empowered Learning Project.
S6 School Photographs – All orders for S6 school photographs will have free delivery if ordered by the closing date of Sunday 25th September.
