This week has been dominated by our Eco Drive with the Pupil Council. We were joined today by Ben MacPherson MSP who spoke with young people about the ideas they have to make Leith Academy greener. He also spoke with our community as we celebrated Purple Friday.

Purple Friday
As ever there was a great vibe across the school today as Pupils led our Purple Friday event linked to our value of Diversity and the LGBTQ community.
S4 Live N Learn
Some of our S4’s got a bespoke session today from Jen at Live N Learn https://live-n-learn.co.uk/ . Here Pupils got further support on study tips and getting their mindset right for the upcoming assessments in Summer. The feedback was positive.
Astro
We are delighted that the work on our astro begins on Monday with a 7-8 week plan in place. The vehicles will need some access to the car park and adjacent walkways but we are doing all we can to minimise this temporary disruption. The long term benefits to our young people in PE lessons will be a welcome addition.
Coronavirus
I appreciate there has been significant media and local authority coverage on this area. We continue to monitor our situation like all businesses and work places globally. We are in close discussions with the Council on steps to take if deemed necessary. You can access support information online through simple google searches if needed.
