Some key updates and news below belo;

Care Experience week – This has been a very powerful and inspirational week with the door arch messages, the video of staff sharing their experiences, the Q&A session attended by many young people and more. Thank you to Mr Connor and others who invested the time in this important work that helps young people most in need feel valued, cared for and seen.

Parents’ Eve – A very positive turn out and a very positive and proactive evening on Wednesday. These discussions involving Families help all to understand what is going well and plan what the focus needs to be going forward. Next one is 13th Nov for Cowan and Port S4,5,6.

Fireworks – As mentioned last week, Families should discuss the safety and legal implications of safe firework use over the course of the next week. Police Scotland and the Local Authority are working together to ensure the week is enjoyable and safe for Families. See attached letters.

S1 Neurodivergent Youth Group – See attached with information for any interested Families.

Trip, Science – This week we had a successful S2 trip to the National Museum learning about STEM careers involving hands-on exhibits and a career talk, bringing Science lab learning to life!

Trip, Travel & Tourism – Our Travel & Tourism class were up at Edinburgh castle on Thursday for their careers event learning more about the various roles involved with tourism. A global industry in our capital city.

Trip, Sustainability – Our S2’s were at Dynamic Earth continuing their geography work through an ‘explosive earth’ workshop looking at plate tectonics and volcanic eruptions. Linked to current planetary ambitions and concerns.
