It’s bonfire weekend and we hope whatever fun people have, it is safe and well planned.
Some key points for Families this week;
Mid Year Assessments / Prelims – Ms Watson is pulling together plans and details for the upcoming assessment window during Nov / Dec (see dates on our calendar section). Our youngsters in S4,5,6 will soon have important information of days / timings / rooming / seat numbers and so on. S4,5,6 should carefully go over information to help the process run smoothly for all.
Simple points around attending all lessons, asking questions, taking on feedback and next steps all become very important to help young people achieve what they hope to. Also take advantage of the excellent offer of supported study during lunch time and after school, this added support can make a real difference. Ms Watson will keep in touch with further details as they emerge.
S3 Track 1 reports – The S3 reports have been emailed to all families and should prompt discussions around aspects going well and areas to consider. If the report triggers any thoughts or questions, email us at Admin@leith.edin.sch.uk and we will direct your question to the appropriate colleague.

P7 into S1 information evening – Plans are coming together for what is always a busy and exciting evening. Thursday 10th November is the date and thank you to the many teams who are putting on an experience or walk through for families to help bring Leith to life!
Remembrance – A week today we will hold our annual ceremony at the front of the school next to the memorial plaques we have in place. The event will be streamed live for all to observe where a 1min silence will be held at 11am across the country.
Parents’ eve last week – Thank you to the Anderson and Barton House Parents for their involvement in our online Parents’ eve. We appreciate there were some frustrating technical / connection issues which we are taking up with the company Director and their team in the hope we can keep finding improvements to the user experience. The Cowan and Port sessions are coming up soon, details to follow from Mr Stewart.
YPI – We had a great event this week with several charities coming in to speak with S3 re Youth Philanthropy Initiative.
Inter House – Netball next week kicks off the next round with teams in place and house points up for the taking!
