Leith Dress Code Update
Every year as we approach Spring we take a closer look at our uniform and dress code. The code is simple and easy to follow for Parents. Please support us with this.
Please use the half term to update any items if needed as we will be checking carefully on our return from the holiday. Pupils arriving in smart uniform has a positive impact on how they learn. Our code is;
- Leith tie
- White shirt
- Black trousers or a skirt
- Plain black jumper if needed
- Black footwear
As Parents ourselves, we know sometimes our youngsters can tell us ‘versions’ of the code! To help with this please see some common misjudgements;
- Leggings without a skirt – are a no
- Tracksuits – are a no
- Jumpers that are not black – are a no
- Footwear that is not black – is a no
- Any items inappropriate for a place of work – are a no
If you’re unsure please speak to a member of staff and we will clarify.
I hope this is helpful in keeping this clear for the return. School ties can be bought through Max Yarns on Duke Street or via the School Office while stocks last.
Diversity Day
A great event showcasing the diversity across our School community. The main street was alive with activity, food, crafts and creativity. The evening show was a tour around the cultures of the world performed by our pupils.
Thanks to all who helped.
Mental Health Week Take 2
A great success as we work hard to try and support all stakeholders in supporting mental health. By no means do we have all the answers but we hope to have some supportive mechanisms in place to help when needed. Thanks to all who supported this event over the course of the week.
Business Breakfast and Careers Fayre
We had an engaging Business Breakfast on Thursday morning with over 20 Business partners networking and planning ways we can support young people into their next steps – some exciting things ahead.
On the 20th Feb we have our Careers Fayre – here Business, companies, organisations and colleges will be in our library waiting to talk to Parents and their youngsters about any questions they may have about taking the next step. This is always a busy event well attended by Parents and young people…..3-5pm in the library.
S3 into S4 Senior Phase
This information session for Parents is planned for the 27th Feb – 7pm start.
The aim is to help Parents support their child on the next steps into S4. This is also suitable for current S4 and S5 pupils / Parents as there will be some relevant course info.
F1 at Leith
We have a Formula 1 STEM competition Team working towards a national goal. They are doing some exciting work and have created their own website www.falconflow.co.uk – have a look.
Have a great mid-term holiday! Rest and Relax.
