Thank you for your efforts through this week as we implemented the guidance that we all should wear a covering when travelling around the school. It has been a cautious week in general regarding the pandemic as the First Minister watches parts of the country and our communities carefully.
Some key points to keep you updated;
Staggered Times
These will remain in place as per this week. The details can be found in our earlier post here https://leithacademy.uk/heads-news-28-august-2020/ .
Social Media Advice
Parents may find these update posters (attached to this post) useful when keeping informed of the various social media platforms available and some of their features. As ever we want youngsters to have a balanced and mature approach to the use of social media.
Coverings
Thank you to all for supporting and encouraging the use of face coverings. All stakeholders should wear a covering when travelling around the building, especially in busy areas. This recommendation has been provided to all schools by ScotGov through NHS advice. There are clearly times when eating and drinking is required, but a sensible approach should be adopted in that when this is not happening the covering should be used.
Symptoms
Thank you for your continued work on monitoring symptoms across the family. The letter I sent earlier in the week from Prof Jason Leitch hopefully provides further professional advice.
In simple terms if your child or any family member is displaying any of the main 3 symptoms they should book a test and the family should isolate until the result is received.
Parent Council catch up
Mike Irving, Head Teacher held a catch up meeting last night with our Chair and Vice Chair of the Parent Council. As ever this was a very supportive discussion where we covered our journey so far in the recovery plan. We are hoping to hold a Parent Council info session next week. More details to follow on this on Monday. Thank you to the many Parents who have offered support and good wishes, this is gratefully received.
Have a good weekend from all at Leith Academy.
