Views – Thank you for the responses to the broad questions to help us all get a sense check. It’s been a while since we have done this, the feedback was great and really useful to help us plan.
Course Choice – Our S3,4,5’s are making big choices about their subjects and pathways for the new school year. The deadline is either close or has passed for year groups. Parents please discuss with your youngsters, they must hand their form to the office once they’ve had supportive discussions with family and relevant staff. Any questions as ever email Admin@leith.edin.sch.uk .
S4-6 Track 3 Reports – These reports are in their final phases and are being check by Head’s of Depts before being emailed to families to support discussions at home and with school where required.
Easter Revision – We have a fantastic offering from staff to run free Easter Revision sessions for S4-6 pupils studying National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher in various subjects. These sessions will allow pupils to practice exam techniques and revision skills, with help from subject teachers, as we reach a key time of year before the final exams. The sessions will run Monday 11th April – Thursday 14th April (first week of Easter break) and are three hours long (either 9am -12pm or 1pm-4pm). If your child is interested in attending these sessions, they can sign up via the link https://forms.office.com/r/kjQXSz52QV, which each senior pupil received to their email account eariler this week. This is a straw poll to gage interest in different subject areas so we can plan a timetable before asking pupils to sign up to individual sessions. This straw poll should be completed by those hoping to attend by the end of Tuesday 22nd March.
BBC Piece – Well done to all who were featured on the BBC Scotland piece around our support for the Mental Health of young people. Covid has pushed this support and will continue to do so, for us all. Those pupils and colleagues who spoke were a credit to themselves and to the work we stand for.
Alcohol Police support – Police Scotland asked us to share the attached with Parents. Sharing with colleagues as will be of interest through our day to day discussions, and in some cases, our content we deliver.
We hope the weekend was good, 2 weeks on Friday is Easter as the term moves on at pace.
We hope to see youngsters tomorrow morning, in uniform ready for a new week.
