Breakfast Café club is back! See below a note from Ms Ralston in our Home Economics Team;
Our Breakfast Café will reopen on 6 June. Pupils will be able to have a good start to the day with a bite to eat. It will run every morning in the Home Economics Department from 7.45 -8.30 am supported by a group of volunteer staff members.
This safe space provides an opportunity for pupils who want breakfast. It is also a time that they can ask members of staff advice, finish off any home learning or meet their friends.
There is no charge for breakfast and one of the ways we support the funding is by collecting for Rag Bag, so if you are clearing out your wardrobe soon we would be happy to take the following items, clean clothes, wearable pairs of shoes and handbags. Through Rag Bag you are able to help recycle textiles and clothing that may have ended up going to landfill as well as helping to fund the Breakfast Café.
Having a breakfast before starting school is important for our young people and research has shown that children who skip breakfast perform less well at school, whereas eating breakfast improve problem solving abilities, memory, concentration levels, visual perception and creative thinking.
