As we complete week 1 of the new timetable it has been another busy week in the summer term, see key points for Families below;

Staffing – Farewell to PC Verity Ferry after a decade of fantastic support for our Families and Staff, we welcome PC Steven Patterson as our new School Link Officer working with us and Portobello.

Week 1 – Is complete with the new timetable which can be straight forward for most, but unsettling for some other youngsters we support. Thanks for all the help you’ve given your child at home to help them adjust. S6 Induction was a brilliant 2 day event and set the scene for our new S6 as leaders.

School Team Football Coaches – Please see below from Mr Moffat in PE;

If any Parent(s) are interested in coaching a school team, please contact Mr Moffat in the PE department via Admin@leith.edin.sch.uk .  Games are mainly held on a Saturday morning and we are looking for coaches to work with our S1 and S2 teams. Any support would be greatly appreciated as we always try to ensure we have School Teams representing Leith across the whole School. Thank you.

Fashion Show – We held a Fashion Show last week in conjunction with rosypenguin from Morningside. Well done to Nadia for leading on this as part of our wider YPI fundraising work and especially to the models who braved the cat walk and looked great! Pictures attached.

Parent Council updates below;

Fundraising – Our PC are working really hard to support us with a bid for high quality performance equipment that our young talented acting teams can use in productions and shows. See below their message and help if you can!

If so please vote for Leith Academy Parent Council in LCR Stands Up funding process.

We have applied for £1000 for microphones for drama, music and shows to help our young people truly demonstrate their fantastic talents!

Work Experience Program – We work with a company called Rite to Work which helps some of our youngsters find the right path that best suits their needs.
