Courses in Maths

Broad General Education

Mathematics is a vital part of Scotland’s Broad General Education, equipping learners from early years to S3 with essential skills in numeracy, problem-solving, and logical thinking. It fosters confidence, supports learning across the curriculum, and prepares young people for life, work, and further study in a rapidly changing world.

All pupils have access to Microsoft Teams and OneNote to support their learning in every maths lesson. These platforms are used to share resources, track progress, and enhance classroom engagement.

📩 If you’d like to view the scheme of work that pupils follow, please feel free to email the school and request a copy

Senior Phase

In the Senior Phase (S4–S6), learners in Scottish schools follow courses accredited by the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA), including National Qualifications, Highers, and Advanced Highers. This phase supports personalisation, depth of learning, and preparation for positive destinations—whether that’s university, college, apprenticeships, or employment.

All pupils have access to Microsoft Teams and OneNote to support their learning in every maths lesson. These platforms are used to share resources, track progress, and enhance classroom engagement.

Scottish Qualifications Authority – SQA also has lots of information about the certificated courses.
