The weekend has clearly brought some news that we are all having to adapt to. Once again highlighting the need to continue to work against this virus and take any steps we need to keep safe.

Key points;

Changed School Dates

The Scottish Govt have announced a change to the school dates as you will have seen in the media over the weekend.

5th Jan – In Service for staff only.

6th, 7th, 8th Jan – Pupils not in School, holiday extended. Pupils eligible for a Hub place will attend, details on Key Worker Hub places below.

Letter from Council to Parents

We have attached below the latest letter to Parents from the Council. It contains the protocols required for Key Worker Parents. We will work with partners to contact particularly vulnerable / care experienced families once we return in 2021.

Key Workers information from Council

Please note that Key Worker childcare is only being offered during normal school hours.  In mainstream secondary schools, the offer is for S1 to S3 children who are not able to be at home / learning during the day.

We have attached a Key Worker definition and flowchart to help, below;

The Leith Academy form is below if you feel you meet the criteria;

Complete this form by 11.45am on 3rd January 2021. School will then crosscheck eligibility with Family.

Leith Links

The latest edition of Leith Links is attached, this year is clearly a slimmed down edition but we tried to capture some the activities we have been engaging with.

Christmas farewell

As a way to wish our pupils a Merry Christmas we pulled together staff and pupils to create our version of a Christmas message. We hope it brought some light at the end of a tough year, you can view the video through this link

We hope you have a nice break and we look forward to seeing you in 2021!
