Our next Rag Bag Collection is on the 3 December. The ‘Rag Bag’ recycling scheme has been developed to provide regular fundraising for schools in the UK and funds at Leith Academy go towards supporting the Breakfast Cafe’

The scheme increases awareness about textile recycling and by increasing recycling rates we can help the environment by ensuring less material goes to landfill.

If you are having a pre Christmas clear out the Breakfast Cafe would benefit from any of the following items.

  •  Wearable Clothing
  •  Paired Shoes
  •  Handbags
  •  Belts

Any donations are welcome and can be dropped off in the Home Economics Department collection box. There is also a supply of bags to put any items in. Thank you.

Musical performance!! – Central Edinburgh Music Service Concerts – Last week a selectin of ensembles performed with about 30 of our pupils from S1-6 taking part in across the Leith cluster Wind Band and the Edinburgh Schools Rock Ensemble. It was a great night of music, and our pupils did us extremely proud on all fronts. In addition to this, Kenya Hamilton (S4) and Ace Duncan (S6) were comperes for the evening. Tonight, Mya Hart (for a second week in a row) and Juliette Grant will be representing Leith in the Central Edinburgh Schools Choir. Super work!

Have a nice weekend as we enter the Christmas run in.
