As we enter the September weekend already, it’s been another incredibly positive and busy week at Leith Academy. See updates below;

Parents – Please sign up to Class Charts using your unique code, this gives you live updates on the positive things your child is doing at School. If you need your code, email Admin@leith.edin.sch.uk

No Parking – A reminder that there is no parking at the front of our School, this is double yellow lines to avoid congestion at start and end of day.

Mobile phone pouches – Edinburgh Council’s mobile phone ban involves all children having a pouch, which they put their phone in, which then goes in their bag. The roll out of pouches is beginning across the City, and we will receive our pouches on Thursday next week.

All children will be given a pouch, this is their pouch to take home, keep safely, and use every day to keep their mobile out of sight whilst on School grounds from 8.30am-3.25pm. This is to protect their learning and avoid distraction through the day.

Our pupils have adjusted to the move in a positive and mature manner over the last month, so this next phase does not present any significant changes. We will keep all updated over next week.

S1 Activity Day – This was a great day with all S1’s working together on different tasks and with different groups of people. It is designed to help them develop team building and communication skills and this was certainly evident across the day.

Ch4 – We had channel 4 in this week doing some great sessions on skills development with our pupils who engaged very well in the creative skills they were working on.

ASN Swim lessons – See info regarding swim lessons for young people with Additional Support Needs.

Hoping you have a good long weekend.
