A Leither who may be of interest – We were made aware of a Scottish soldier from Edinburgh, Thomas Keith (c. 1793 – 1815) who became a governor of Medina. It seems like Thomas went to Leith Academy and was an apprentice to a watch maker in Edinburgh before joining the army. There is some information about him on…..

And two YouTube videos I found:
Thomas Keith is the subject of the novel Blood and Sand (1987) by Rosemary Sutcliff. (Thomas Keith (Ibrahim Agha) – The Scottish Governor of Medina | Ruz-e-Alast (ruzealast.com)
Have a good weekend from all at Leith Academy.
