With 1 week to go until the half term, some updates below for Families;

Qualifications Scotland – Your National Qualifications information has been emailed out to all S4-6 pupils.  This talks them through qualifications and coursework rules and information and can be found here Your National Qualifictions – school edition

Qualifications Scotland are also looking for the views from families of S4-6 pupils on the reform of qualifications and would appreciate your time to complete the following survey

1. Background – Qualifications Reform Survey – parents and carers

S1 Settling in Parents’ eve – Emails have been sent directly to S1 Families re details. Our S1’s have made a super start to the year and we look forward to seeing Families next week.

S4,5,6 Parent info session – How to Pass your National Qualifications, this is an important year for our Senior Phase pupils. Parents have been sent the details for next Thursday by Ms Watson, it is always a busy event and we look forward to seeing you there.

GOLD! – This week we officially received our Sports Gold Award for our Sport provision across the School. Only 19 Schools out of 132 Schools in Edinburgh have reached Gold so the bar is high! Well done to all involved, we hope this allows as many young people as possible to engage in healthy activity every week.

DWF Law firm – This week we had S4 pupils beginning the process of applying for, interviewing and hoping to secure a work placement experience with our long term partners DWF Law. Interest was very high with a good standard of applicant, Mrs Steele and the Team will keep pupils informed of the next steps.

S4 Mock Interviews – Today all S4 had a mock interview with one of our invited employers / guests. The S4 handled their interviews with great maturity and we hope it gave them a sense of the interview process, how to reflect on their own skills, how to communicate in a professional setting. Thanks to Phil (Developing the Young Workforce) from our team who led the event.

Skills Week 2026 – This is next week, talk about skills in all your lessons when they naturally occur…..which they do all the time! See Daniel’s email for details.

Future Assets – This week a group of girls looked at finance and investment careers. They met with industry professionals, used presentation skills to promote a product, and problem solving skills to analyse risk of a range of investment opportunities. They also met with Minal Waseem, who has now left school and through Future Assets discovered an opportunity for a modern apprenticeship at Aberdeen Investments. She gave some great advice to the girls about her experience. See info here  Future Asset

Volleyball tournament – Mr Irvine had a squad at Queensferry this week for the first tournament of the year. We took two senior volleyball teams to participate in an Edinburgh Schools mixed volleyball festival. In a strong field, we won 3 games and lost 3 games. Players of the day for the two teams were Luo Lin Zheng and Jessica Alcock. Well done to all.

Hoping you have a good weekend.
