As we complete another week there have been some updates at a National level that will be considered over the coming period of time. Please see below some key points;

First Minister – phased recovery plan

Following the First Minister’s announcement yesterday (Thursday) Education will continue to look at and develop possible plans over the coming weeks alongside what this may look like for us in our Leith community. This will involve discussions at National level, Local Government level and of course Leith Academy level. I will keep you updated as details materialise, you can find the full document on the Scot Gov website here https://www.gov.scot/publications/excellent-equity-during-covid-19-pandemic-strategic-framework-reopening-schools-early-learning-childcare-provision-scotland/

New Learning

We hope that our pupils and families are continuing to access learning and support from our varied platforms; the website, Microsoft Teams, OneNote, Twitter and email are some of the ways we are all learning to develop.

This week to help NEW S2’s we have pulled together what each subject has planned for week commencing 25th May. This is not exhaustive and pupils should complete what they can, by no means is it a ‘must do’ list. The aim of providing this is to help Parents and Pupils plan across the week. The plan will be emailed to all NEW S2 Parents via GroupCall.

P7 Transition

Our Teams are doing great work behind the scenes with our new S1’s…..our website has a dedicated page to help Parents https://leithacademy.uk/parents/transition/ and we are in the midst of creating a question and answer video to send to pupils and families. As I get more detail in the coming weeks I will keep all informed.

I sense we are entering the next phase of planning and preparing what the next chapter of this challenging time is going to look like. As ever I will keep you updated as and when I receive relevant information.

I hope you can have a nice weekend.
