A busy week at School as we enter October, some main points below;
Pouches – We are ready from a School perspective, we are just waiting for some green lights from the Authority then we will issue to children. Compliance remains high and we are seeing an improved level of focus, more positive iPad use and better engagement in lessons, which is the reason the Authority put the ban in place, to help protect learning when on school grounds.
Edin Select squads – We were pleased to hear some of our youngsters are through to the next round of the Edinburgh Select football trials. This is a high level, very well done to Lily McKay who has been selected for Edinburgh select. And well done to Kayden Duncan, Jude Campbell and Archie Scotland for the Edinburgh U15 select squad 2nd round.
Pupil Leadership Team – After an intense selection process we have our PLT. Well done to Skye Harper (Head Pupil), Kyrylo Kovalenko (Head Pupil), Malika Afif (Depute Head Pupil) and Emma Kerr (Depute Head Pupil). All gave fantastic presentations outlining vision and pride in the work we do at Leith Academy. They now begin the task of representing the pupil body across the year. Congratulations to them all!
Reports – We are quality assuring our 1st Tracking reports of the year and these will be issued in due course to Families. Reports should allow Families to discuss strengths and next steps together, and get in touch with School for further support as required. All dates can be found on our Parent friendly calendar.
S5’s – Want to be a Prefect next year? – There will be a meeting for all S5’s next Friday at 12.30pm for those considering applying to be Leith Academy Prefects 27/28. More details for sign up next week.
