Well done to all on the first week back. The clocks ‘fall back’ this weekend to hopefully provide some lighter mornings over the next few weeks.

Key points;

Covid in winter –  Having hoped there would be an easing of some restrictions, the Govt remains cautious over how the NHS will cope as we go through the winter. The next few weeks will have an important impact on the Christmas period. In School we will continue to take steps to help;

-wear a covering at all times

-hand hygiene is vital

-keep distance where possible

-take break / lunch outside where possible (bring jackets) to avoid gatherings indoors

-take 2 x lat flow tests each week and record the results

-have discsussions at home linked to vaccination options for young adults

Mid year assessment / Prelim

The planning / thinking for these is well underway. We are awaiting updates from SQA and Public Health around capacity matters such as use of the hall. Ms Watson hopes to have plans to staff / pupils / families over the coming weeks, but this only provides ‘the order’ of assessments. The message for all S4,5,6 from Home and School is to keep attending / asking / listening and learning as best they can in preparation of achieving the outcomes we all hope for.

It is self explanatory and will help us to support young people to engage in activites in the wider life of their school / community, which we know has a positive impact on their well being.

S3 Track 1 Reports – These reports are now being quality checked and finalised at School with a view to emailing to Parents over the coming days next week. As ever, the track reports should help trigger positive discussions at home at an early point so we can come together as School / Family / Pupil to plan positive next steps where needed.
