A busy week with Active Girls / Boys Sports focus for S1 today and Danish visitors during the week. With 1 week to go until the half term, some key points below;
Study Support – As we approach the autumn, we have a great offer of study support across the School. See our website page here Supported Study Schedule – (leithacademy.uk)
S1 Parents Eve – We have our annual S1 Settling in Parents’ eve where Parents can meet their child’s Key Adult Teacher and go over their Track 1 report. See separate emails from School / Mr Stewart re details.
S1 and S2 Track 1 Reports – All Edinburgh Schools are now using a new Pupil Tracking Report system. Ms Watson / School will have sent you email linked to this, such as having specific details in order to sign in securely to see your Child’s report, this to ensure your data is secure and not shared with someone else. Parents should be able to see reports by 5pm on Monday. Any questions please email Admin@leith.edin.sch.uk and we will help.
Parent support with Careers – Please see a note below from our Developing the Young Workforce co-ordinator Phil…..
We are having a careers fair at Leith Academy on Tuesday 29th October. This fair is for ALL the seniors, so S4, S5 and S6 will all attend. This is in the region of 400 pupils, over a two hour fair, so it will be very busy, and the biggest in-school fair the school has ever done.
This is a great opportunity to get your message across to the pupils directly and support the young people with their choices. Many of the young people will be making decisions about their next steps, whether that’s apprenticeships, college, Uni, jobs or volunteering, so you can tap directly into their planning just now to influence their future decisions, as well as raise the profile of your sector.
Logistics – Pupils will be free to move around on their own and you will have a table and space for a banner, and bring any literature you want and also any merchandise.
Set up is from 8am on Tuesday 29th October.
The fair will start at 8.40 and run through until 10.30am
- There will be many teachers present at all times, as well as myself.
- Refreshments will be available.
I hope you can join us to support the young people of Leith Academy, please do email me if you are able to attend.
Thanks -Phil Dickson, Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) Philip.dickson@edinburghchamber.co.uk
