As we enter November it was another busy week at Leith Academy. The bulletin which is emailed to Parents through the week keeps you updated with the events / sign ups / clubs and trips that go on in any given week. Below is some news to help keep you informed of ongoing developments across the School.

FarewellMs Gillian Davis has successfully secured a Curriculum Leader post and we wish her well in her next chapter. Thank you on behalf of all Pupils for the positive impact you have had.

Truancy callsWe will be moving to an afternoon truancy call for Parents over the coming weeks. At present this happens in the morning only. Essentially Parents will receive a text message if their child is not in School when they should be. We will keep Parents Pupils and Staff updated as we put this change in place over the coming weeks.

P7 into S1 Parent Info Eve – We had an outstanding turn out for the evening with many departments represented. Thank you to those who were able to support. Our Senior pupils led tours around the School and informed the Parents if they had questions. The feedback was extremely positive, thanks to all.

Remembrance – Our annual service will be on Monday at 11am. We will tannoy in order for classes to begin a minute’s silence. Please keep doors open and you will hear the first post being played live in the café area, we are hoping this will travel across the School (our first time trying this). We may also be able to stream our service at the war memorials (front door) across your classroom screens. Ms Watson will have info if this is possible (also our first time!).

Anti-Bullying Week – Next week is anti-bullying week. Sitting squarely within our values / way to be / MVP we work constantly to help young people who are bullied or who are bullying. Next week helps to keep the awareness high and to support our pupils. Some resources below from Edinburgh Council which we can use;
