We hope that during the break our young people and families were able to enjoy the white Christmas Edinburgh had, albeit within restrictions that are a challenge for all.

As you will know, Nicola Sturgeon, First Minister for Scotland has announced further restrictions with a clear message of ‘stay at home’ for all if at all possible.

This is clearly a challenging position to find ourselves in, we have met as a staff team this morning and we are working on plans to provide support for online learning over the course of January. We are due to return to School on Feb 1st, though this will be reviewed.

Children are on holiday for the rest of this week with our online learning beginning 11th Jan 2021.

Further developments will be coming over the coming days as Head Teachers meet with Senior Council colleagues as we all adapt and plan for the next few weeks.

We will continue to update you using the website / email by the end of this week. In the meantime pupils should get ready to link in with learning online using a device with access to wifi. If this is a problem please email admin@leith.edin.sch.uk and we will do all we can to support families.

There will be an assembly led by Mr Irving, Head Teacher on Monday morning for all S1-6 pupils on Microsoft Teams, again further details to come on this.

We will continue to work through these challenging times together.
