As we end the School year we have included final points before we finish on Friday. A letter will be sent to all Families over the course of the Summer with latest updates and plans.

Please find below our latest calendar of events ‘Parent version’ to help planning. This may be subject to change with Covid and will be placed in our Calendar section of the website.

SQA – we are now in the position where we are preparing to send our young adults their outcomes following a detailed and rigorous process. We have worked hard with youngsters to try and ensure we were able to provide the best opportunity for them to demonstrate their best learning.

An email will be sent to the pupil SCHOOL EMAIL account and also to the Family account we have on our school files later this afternoon (Wednesday 23rd). The letter will contain important information alongside the outcomes for each individual.

PLEASE NOTE – the email coming out after school today is only for the Alternative Certification Model qualifications (ie graded courses at National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher), all other qualifications eg National 3/4, NPAs, Skills for Work and the ACM grades will be on their full certificates which are sent by SQA on 10th August.

Please see a further statement from Edinburgh Council below;

Dear parent/carer

You will be aware that we will email your child with a letter which will explain the provisional grades we will submit to SQA at the end of this week. You will receive a copy of this letter by email. The letter explains the process of setting these provisional grades, as well as a link to SQA’s appeals process and information about support which is available from Skills Development Scotland over the summer.

If your child thinks there has been a clerical error in collating these results then please do get in touch with us so that we can check. Our staff will be available to discuss possible appeals with your child over Thu / Fri and once school resumes (from 18 August). Your child does have the right to make a direct appeal to SQA over the summer, as our letter will explain. Note that the deadline for priority appeals – those where the offer of a place at higher or further education are involved – is 24 August.

If your child is concerned about the impact of these results on their chosen pathway, do please encourage them to get in touch using Admin@Leith.edin.sch.uk .

Friday – As per the calendar of events Calendar – (leithacademy.uk) we will finish on Friday at 12 midday for the Summer break. Thank you to all Pupils, Parents and Families for the support offered during the last School year.

Updates and key information on the August start will be emailed to Parents over the course of the summer holiday.
